MANDALAY

MANDALAY is the second
largest city and is 688km for north of Yangon. Before
British rule in 1885, the last capital of Myanmar and centre
of culture. You can glimpse the magnificent palace of
KONGBONG , Myanmar's last dynasty, Mandalay hill, gold leaf
works, Zegyo market, wood curving , marble curving, world
biggest book ( Kuthodaw temple ), Golden palace monastery,
Mahamuni ( Great Buddha Image ) and buffalo point on the
bank of Ayeyarwaddy river. During the evening, traditional
variety shows and performance stage, the marionette.

Over looking to sagaing hill
is similar to a ' Little BAGAN ' and which is situated 21km
to the of Mandalay on the other book of Ayeyarwaddy river.
The Sagaing hill offer famous religious retreats where over
3,000 monks and nuns stay for study and meditation in over
(600 ) monasteries. Tour highlights are British build AVA

Amapura is an ancient capital
before Mandalay and to be found about 11km south of
Mandalay. Famous U Pein Bridge ( 1208 m ) is the longest
bridge in Myanmar and was totally constructed with teak
planks. Especially, a recreation place on evening and able
to visit a village across and famous MAHAGANDARYON
monastery. Silk and cotton weaving workshops are created a

A visit to the ancient and
atmospheric ruined city of AVA ( AD-1364 ) remains INNWA
fort, NANMYINT watch-tower, BAGAYA old wooden monastery,
Myanmar masonry architecture arts of MAHAAUNGMYAYBONZEN

workshop making lacquer alms bowls for monks.

Located about 11km up stream
of MANDALAY on the western bank of AYEYARWADDY river. A
distinc vision are PATHODAWGYI ( Huge uncompleted Pagoda ) ,
the largest ringing bell in the world and home for aged. A
45 minute to MINGUN is very pleasant with splendid views,
river life-abroad and a glimpse into Myanmar's rural life. |

Situated about 136 km to the
west of Mandalay and the commercial centre of CHINDWIN
valley. Highlights are THANBODI ( 522,028 Buddha Images ),
BODITATAUNG ( five thousand of banyan trees ), KYAUKKAR
village, known for its own distinctive kind of lacquer ware
arts, and POWIN TAUNG, (30)minutes drive after crossing
CHINDWIN river is famous for exceptional sand stone caves . |

PYIN OO LWIN is 1070 m above
sea level and 69 km to the east of Mandalay.. It is well
known as a former British colonial summer hill station .
Attractive Places are NATIONAL KANDAWGYI GARDEN ( 42-hectare
), PEIK-CHIN-MYAUNG Cave, PWE-KAUK water fall, markets,
British-build houses and beautiful streets. Sweater knitting
is the biggest livelihood in town, local grown Arabica
coffee is delicious till the last drop for all coffee lover.

It's a quite small town on the way of MANDALAY-LASHIO
road ( OLD BURMA ROAD ). The rail road is extraordinary. The
majority people are SHAN. A better place to see the tribes
and excellent for trekking around there. The British build
GOKTEIK railway viaduct is the second highest railway bridge
in the world.
