The second largest lake in Myanmar and is 22km long and
1km wide, 1328m above sealevel located in beautiful southern
shan state and most unusual feature is it's extraordinary
'leg-rowing' fisherman. The entire lake bear 17 villagee on
stilts cottages inhabited by the intha people. On both sides
of the lake is vargin rim with the high mountains, there the
villages of Intha, Shan, Taungthu, Taungyo, Pa-O, Danu,
Kayah, Danaw and Bamar people lived. All the gardens are
Hoating built-up from strips of water hyacinth and mud,
dredged from the lakebed. One of the famous Paungdaw Opagoda
festival draws celebrant on SEP/OCT in every year. Unique
attraction is Intha's leg-rowing competitions. |
